I began my teaching career as a student teacher at Murray Jr. High and Bancroft Elementary. From there I taught at Bryn Mawr Elementary and Cityview Community School. This is my seventh year teaching in Minneapolis Public Schools.
In addition to teaching, I love spending time with family and friends, enjoying good food, rollerblading, lounging on a beach, bowling, binging on Nextflix, painting, crafts, and cuddling up with my cat fur babies, Beau and Thai.
I believe in...
I grew up in Saint Paul. I went to a private school from Kindergarten to Eighth grade and then attended a Saint Paul Public School for high school. From there, I went to Hamline University.
From a young age, I was always active in athletics. I played soccer, hockey, and softball for most of my athletic career. Sports kept me engaged and motivated not only socially but academically. I also had the opportunity to play collegiate fastpitch for four years. That was an amazing experience. Even though high school sports and college softball is over, I have the knowledge to continue a career in lifetime sports as I get older.
Books...
Although I don't always take the time to read as much as I should as an adult, there was a time I used to sneak a flashlight into my room and stay up way past bedtime reading books under the covers. Some childhood favorites are:
Love You Forever, by Roger Knapp
Goodnight Moon, by Margaret Wise Brown
Chrysanthemum, by Kevin Henkes
Any book by Shel Silverstein
